QAI is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as a product certification body for Recreational Vehicles (Z240 RV), Park Model Trailers (Z241), Mobile Homes (Z240 MH), and Modular Structures (A277). QAI has strong ties with the regulators, building inspectors and industry associations across Canada. Our SCC accreditation as well as recognition by the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) means that many plumbing, gas and electrical components certified by QAI for use in RVs will be recognized throughout both Canada and the USA. The QAI logo is widely recognized as a reliable symbol to authorities that the product bearing the mark conforms to the standards referenced on the nameplate.
QAI can provide the twin seals of excellence - the CRVA label as well as the QAI certification mark - for recreational vehicle manufacturer's who are members of the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA).
For manufacturers of modular structures, QAI is able to certify your residential, commercial and industrial structures to the requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction. We are well aware of the requirements across Canada and will work with you to gain the necessary approvals. QAI is recognized by Alberta Municipal Affairs as an inspection agency required for approval of plumbing, gas and electrical systems for relocatable industrial accommodations covered by Part 10 of the Alberta Building Code. QAI can provide the CMHI label as well as the QAI Certification mark to modular structure clients that are members of the CMHI.
QAI Transport Canada Compliance Program
This program is designed to minimize the hassles of importing Recreational Vehicles and to help our clients acheive compliance with the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Act (MVSA). This is not a certification program, but as an option may be used in conjunction with our CSA Z240 and NFPA 1192 programs.
• QAI assists manufacturers to assemble MVSA compliance packages.
• QAI maintains records of RVs meeting the MVSA and acts as the “Importer of Record”, eliminating the dealer from having this responsibility.
• It eliminates the dealers requirements to be prequalified to import a manufacturer’s product expanding dealer's selection and minimizing his red tape.
• It require compliance to the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations
• It does not address NFPA 1192 or CSA Z240 requirements
