Windows & Doors Certification
QAI is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as a third party certification body, National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) to conduct energy modeling, and International Accreditation Service (IAS) to conduct testing and inspections. QAI offers a full range of certification programs to suit your specific needs, such as:
1. To prove conformance with the requirements of the ENERGY STAR program in Canada
2. To prove conformance with the requirements of the British Columbia Energy Efficiency Act (BCEEA)
3. To show conformance of products to the air leakage, water penetration, wind load resistance and forced entry requirements of local building codes.
4. To show conformance of fire doors with the requirements of local building codes
Products certified by QAI are eligible to bear the logo(s) shown below. This is a symbol to regulators that the products bearing this mark meet the standards and specifications placed on the label. The QAI logo is widely recognized throughout Canada and the United States.
 
QAI is a one stop shop that provides testing, certification and inspection services. There is no need to work with other agencies. QAI’s fully accredited test lab is capable of testing any window, door, skylight or alternative glazing system to the AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/IS2/A440 standard up to a size of 2500mm x 3000mm. QAI has a staff of trained engineers that will conduct thermal modeling on your product using the computer simulation method specified in CSA A440.2 or NFRC standards. As part of our accreditation requirements, QAI conducts a minimum of two inspections per year at the manufacturing facility. QAI also has a number of auditors qualified to conduct inspections on behalf of the Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance of Canada (IGMAC) program. If you also manufacture insulating glass units and participate in the IGMAC program, why not reduce your QAI window and door inspection costs and have QAI conduct your IGMAC inspection at the same time!
